How it works
Paying and approving are separate steps. Your payment buys the book; the book is not written, and nothing is printed, until you have approved it.
- 01
Choose your edition
Digital, paperback, or hardcover. You pay once at checkout, handled by Stripe. Printed editions include the digital novel.
- 02
Fill in your private brief
Tell us about the people in it and the story you want, in short sections that save as you go. Leave and come back whenever you like: your paid book waits in your library.
- 03
Approve the characters and their voice
You read a summary of every character and a short, non-explicit voice sample. If you change an answer, you see them again before anything moves on.
- 04
Approve the plan
Review the 28-chapter plan, then approve production. The book is written from exactly what you approved, and each chapter is checked against your brief.
- 05
Approve your cover and print proof
For a paperback or hardcover, you approve the cover made for your book, then the finished print proof: the complete interior, the cover, your edition and your shipping address. Nothing is printed until you approve it.
- 06
Read it and keep it
Read the finished novel in your library and download the whole book as a PDF. A printed copy is made and shipped after you approve its proof.
As much or as little detail as you like
A lead, a name for each person (we can invent one for an invented character) and a confirmation that everyone is an adult are all we need to begin. Everything else is up to you.
Quick choices
Tap through choices for looks, personality, humor and the way they talk. Every one is optional, and any choice can be cleared again.
Room for the details
Write roomy notes for each person, your connection and the story: the history, the in-jokes, the things only you would know.
Surprise me
Leave the rest to us. Surprise me fills only what you left open. Anything you told us stays exactly as you said it.
Your boundaries always hold. You decide how heated it may get and what it must never include, and a creative surprise never widens that.
From story to bookshelf
A book they can actually unwrap.
The Concordat started as a personalized story. Here it is as a finished hardcover: the cover, the spine, and a whole book of printed pages. Yours will have its own story.
The illustrated artwork belongs to this sample and does not come with your book. Your printed edition gets a cover of its own.
Choose paperback or hardcover when you order the full novel.
What the sample shows
The Concordat is a finished novel made with My Steamy Story, photographed as a printed hardcover. Its story, names and artwork belong to the sample, and it runs longer than the 28 chapters of a custom novel. Yours is written from your own brief.
Read The Concordat sampleThe opening and contents need no account. The full sample novel is free with an account, for adults 18+.
Good to know
Is this a subscription?
No. You pay once for the edition you choose: $99 digital, $199 with a paperback, or $229 with a hardcover, in US dollars. Shipping is included in the printed editions.
Do I have to finish the brief right away?
No. Your brief saves as you go, and your paid book stays in your library until you approve production. Pick it up whenever you are ready.
Can I change my answers?
Yes, until you approve production. Changing an answer means approving the characters, the voice sample and the plan again, so the book is always written from the version you approved last.
How steamy does it get?
You choose. Set how heated it may get, from tender upward, and set hard limits the story never crosses. Surprise me never adds anything you did not allow.
Can a real person be in it?
Yes. You can be in it yourself, and anyone else real must be an adult who knows about the story and has agreed to it. Invented characters need no one’s permission.
Where do printed copies ship?
To addresses in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, with shipping included in the price.
Who sees my brief?
Your brief is private to your account and is used to write your book and nothing else. An AI writing service drafts the text from it, and each chapter is checked automatically against what you asked for. Anything that fails that check is held back for a person to read, and may be edited. The only people who see your details are the ones needed to produce and review your book. It is never used for advertising.
