Christmas gifts have an audience: the tree, the relatives, the pile. This one deliberately does not. It is the gift you give quietly, later in the evening, because it is a book about the two of you and the tree does not need to know what happens in chapter three.

It also outlasts the day, which almost nothing under the tree does. The first chapter is what you hand over; the serial keeps arriving through the coldest months of the year, each chapter built from your details and steered by what you both thought of the last one.

Practically: December is a queue like everywhere else, and a person reads every chapter before it is delivered. Order in November if you want the first chapter in hand for the day itself; the interview takes ten minutes and the margin does the rest.

What if we are long-distance over the holidays?
Chapters arrive wherever you are, and the story can be set anywhere, including the distance itself. A serial you both read apart and talk about is a fairly good way to be in the same place.
Who reads what I share?
Only the two of you. Details go into writing your chapters and nothing else, no advertising and no data sales, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time. One editor reads each chapter before delivery, which is what keeps the quality honest.
