Bodyguard romance, written about you
Paid to watch her every move, and paid to feel nothing about it. Have a bodyguard romance written with you as the lead, at the heat you choose.
Your first chapter is free.
Bodyguard romance is forced proximity with a paycheck attached. The job requires constant closeness and total attention, and forbids exactly one thing about them. That contradiction is the whole engine: a man paid to notice everything about a woman, professionally obligated to make nothing of it.
It is also the trope where competence does the seduction. He clears the room first and stands where the sightlines cross, and none of it is about her, until the day the threat is real and the difference between duty and terror is audible in his voice. The good version saves that difference for the exact right moment.
For a real couple, the trope maps onto something true: one of you is the one who checks the locks, walks on the traffic side, texts to confirm the landing. The story takes that instinct and gives it a job title, a protocol, and one rule it cannot keep.
